Mr. Lasky is the President and Chairman of Spectrum Real Estate, which was founded with Mr. Murray Peretz in 1990. Spectrum is a full-service real estate firm specializing in office and residential lofts. Spectrum’s affiliate, Merger Industries, was founded by Murray Peretz and Lasky in 1986. Merger is a full-service, general contractor and construction consultant, specializing in large-scale, loft renovation projects. Mr. Lasky currently serves as the secretary and treasurer of Merger. Mr. Lasky has been active in the development of the River North area of Chicago for over 30 years. From 1979 to 1985, prior to founding Merger and Spectrum, Mr. Lasky was a practicing real estate attorney for the law firm of Rudnick & Wolfe, located in Chicago, Illinois. During this time, Mr. Lasky was responsible for the representation of firm and individual clients in residential, and commercial real estate, both locally and nationally, including representation of the acquisition of several River North warehouses in the early 1980s and their conversion into office lofts. In 1985 he also syndicated several real estate and hospitality limited partnerships. Mr. Lasky graduated in 1976 from Ohio Wesleyan University (Phi Beta Kappa) and received his J.D. from the University of Illinois in 1979, where he served on the Law Review. He also taught Business Law at the University of Illinois. Currently, Mr. Lasky is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and The American Bar Association.
